It also sought to raise awareness among the attendees about ways to prevent and address this phenomenon through appropriate legal legislation and community guidance to protect privacy.   The workshop focused on the importance of confronting the threats to fundamental human rights, particularly the right to privacy, in light of the rapid expansion of technology usage in various aspects of daily life. The presenters, Assistant Professor Dr. Nada Imran and Assistant Lecturer Mehdi Ali Wada’a, provided a detailed explanation of the major violations related to the negative use of technology.   أقام قسم علوم الحياة في كلية العلوم بجامعة النهرين ندوة علمية بعنوان “الأسباب الرئيسية لنقص فيتامين D3 لدى النساء”، قدمتها المدرس الدكتور عذراء غازي عبد الرزاق، بحضور عدد كبير من الطلبة والأساتذة والمهتمين.    هدفت الندوة إلى تسليط الضوء على أهمية فيتامين D3 لصحة الجسم والتوعية بالأسباب التي تؤدي إلى نقصه لدى النساء، بالإضافة إلى تقديم حلول وطرق وقائية للحد من هذه المشكلة الصحية.   تضمنت الندوة التعريف بفيتامين D3 ودوره كعنصر أساسي في تعزيز صحة العظام والجهاز المناعي والوقاية من العديد من الأمراض. كما تناولت الأسباب الرئيسية التي تؤدي إلى نقص الفيتامين لدى النساء، ومنها قلة التعرض لأشعة الشمس والأنماط الغذائية غير المتوازنة وبعض الحالات الصحية التي تؤثر على امتصاص الفيتامين. اختتمت الندوة بمناقشة وسائل الوقاية من نقص فيتامين D3،    أكدت المحاضرة على أهمية التعرض المنتظم لأشعة الشمس، وتناول الأغذية الغنية بالفيتامين مثل الأسماك الدهنية وصفار البيض، والاستعانة بالمكملات الغذائية عند الحاجة، مع التشديد على ضرورة إجراء الفحوص الدورية لمراقبة مستويات الفيتامين وضمان تحقيق التوازن الصحي.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين      The College of Science at Al-Nahrain University Organizes a Scientific Seminar on Vitamin D3 Deficiency in Women   The Department of Life Sciences at the College of Science, Al-Nahrain University, organized a scientific seminar titled “The Main Causes of Vitamin D3 Deficiency in Women.” The seminar was presented by Dr. Athraa Ghazi Abdul-Razzaq and was attended by a large number of students, faculty members, and interested participants.   The seminar aimed to shed light on the importance of Vitamin D3 for overall health, raise awareness about the causes of its deficiency in women, and provide solutions and preventive measures to address this health issue.   The seminar included an introduction to Vitamin D3, highlighting its essential role in enhancing bone health, strengthening the immune system, and preventing various diseases. It also discussed the main causes of Vitamin D3 deficiency in women, such as inadequate exposure to sunlight, unbalanced dietary habits, and certain health conditions that affect the absorption of the vitamin.   The seminar concluded with a discussion on preventive measures against Vitamin D3 deficiency. The presenter emphasized the importance of regular exposure to sunlight, consuming vitamin-rich foods such as fatty fish and egg yolks, and using dietary supplements when needed. The aim of the paper was to develop an innovative method that relies on artificial intelligence and deep learning techniques to accurately recognize and classify ancient texts.   The paper addressed the challenges the researchers faced in data collection, such as overlapping characters or damage to the texts caused by time and environmental factors. It also focused on cuneiform and Hebrew texts as some of the oldest known writing systems. The researchers used the YOLOv8 model for character detection and image classification based on content.   The study achieved promising results, demonstrating that the model could recognize characters with an accuracy of up to 92%, with the ability to classify cuneiform texts into three main categories: Sumerian, Assyrian, and Babylonian.   The paper provides an effective tool that contributes to the faster and more accurate study of ancient texts, offering significant support to researchers and archaeologists in the study and understanding of these texts.   Department of Media and Government Communication Office of the President of Al-Nahrain University

  ناقشت كلية الطب في جامعة النهرين أطروحة دكتوراه في فرع الكيمياء والكيمياء الحياتية بعنوان “دراسة جينية وحركية لإنزيم ACE2 ومستوى الفورين في المرضى المصابين بعدوى كوفيد-19 الشديدة”، قدمتها الباحثة رغد أحمد محمد. بإشراف السيد مساعد رئيس الجامعة للشؤون العلمية، الأستاذ الدكتور عمر فاروق عبد الرشيد، والدكتورة نادرة سلمان محمد.    تناولت الأطروحة دراسة مستويات إنزيم ACE2 في مصل الدم لدى مرضى كوفيد-19 ومقارنتها بمجموعة التحكم، إلى جانب تقييم مستويات إنزيم فورين ودراسة ارتباطه بشدة الإصابة وتحليل الخصائص الحركية لإنزيم ACE2 لفهم دوره في تفاقم الحالة المرضية.   وأظهرت النتائج أن مستويات ACE2 كانت مرتفعة بشكل ملحوظ لدى المرضى الذين يعانون من حالات شديدة مقارنة بذوي الحالات الخفيفة ومجموعة التحكم، كما سجلت الدراسة زيادة كبيرة في مستويات إنزيم فورين لدى المرضى ذوي الحالات الشديدة، مما يشير إلى دوره المحتمل في تفاقم شدة المرض.    وكشفت الدراسة عن ارتفاع في عدد الصفائح الدموية وخلايا الدم البيضاء ومستويات D-dimer لدى المرضى ذوي الحالات الشديدة، مما يبرز إمكانية اعتمادها كمؤشرات لشدة الإصابة. كما بينت النتائج أن التعبير الجيني لإنزيم ACE2 كان مرتفعًا بوضوح لدى مرضى كوفيد-19 مقارنة بمجموعة التحكم، مما يسلط الضوء على الدور المزدوج لإنزيمي ACE2 وفورين في تحديد شدة الإصابة. هذه النتائج تعزز الفهم العلمي حول آليات المرض وقد تسهم في تطوير استراتيجيات علاجية مستهدفة لتحسين التعامل مع الحالات الشديدة من كوفيد-19.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي  رئاسة جامعة النهرين      A PhD Dissertation at Al-Nahrain University’s College of Medicine Discusses the Role of ACE2 and Furin Enzymes in COVID-19 Patients   The College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University discussed a PhD dissertation in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry titled “A Genetic and Kinetic Study of ACE2 Enzyme and Furin Levels in Patients with Severe COVID-19 Infections,” presented by researcher Raghd Ahmed Mohammed under the supervision of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Omar Farouq Abdul Rashid, and Dr. Nadera Salman Mohammed.   The dissertation examined the levels of ACE2 enzyme in the blood serum of COVID-19 patients and compared them with a control group, evaluated the levels of the Furin enzyme and its correlation with disease severity, and analyzed the kinetic properties of the ACE2 enzyme to understand its role in the progression of the disease.   The results revealed significantly elevated ACE2 levels in patients with severe cases compared to those with mild cases and the control group. The study also recorded a substantial increase in Furin enzyme levels in patients with severe cases, indicating its potential role in exacerbating disease severity.   Additionally, the research found elevated platelet counts, white blood cell levels, and D-dimer concentrations in severe cases, highlighting their potential as indicators of disease severity. It also showed that the genetic expression of ACE2 enzyme was markedly higher in COVID-19 patients compared to the control group, emphasizing the dual role of ACE2 and Furin enzymes in determining disease severity.   These findings enhance the scientific understanding of the mechanisms of COVID-19 and could contribute to developing targeted therapeutic strategies to better manage severe cases.   Department of Media and Government Communication Presidency of Al-Nahrain University

  نظم قسم الرياضيات وتطبيقات الحاسوب في كلية العلوم بجامعة النهرين ورشة عمل بعنوان “هندسة الفراكتال”، قدمتها الدكتورة إيمان عبدالوهاب حسين، بحضور عدد من تدريسيي القسم.   تناولت الورشة مفهوم هندسة الفراكتال وأهميتها في وصف خصائص الأشكال الطبيعية، مع التركيز على التحقق من الخصائص الرياضية لبعض الظواهر ومحاولة تفسيرها بناءً على الخواص الفراكتالية. وأوضحت الورشة أن الهندسة الفراكتالية تعتمد على أشكال غير منتظمة تتكون من أجزاء متداخلة بأحجام مختلفة، يتم تشكيلها عبر تكرار معادلات غير خطية أو تطبيق قواعد رياضية محددة، مع خاصية تقسيم الشكل الأساسي إلى أجزاء صغيرة تمثل صورة مصغرة عنه.   تطرقت الورشة أيضاً إلى تطبيقات الهندسة الفراكتالية في مجالات متنوعة، مثل تحليل الصور الرقمية، تصميم الأنظمة المعمارية، ودراسة الظواهر الطبيعية كالغيوم وتشكيلات الجبال. وأكدت على أهمية هذا العلم في تقديم حلول مبتكرة للمشاكل العلمية المعقدة.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين      The College of Science at Al-Nahrain University Organizes a Workshop on “Fractal Geometry”   The Department of Mathematics and Computer Applications at the College of Science, Al-Nahrain University, organized a workshop titled “Fractal Geometry,” presented by Dr. Iman Abdulwahab Hussein, with the attendance of several faculty members.   The workshop addressed the concept of fractal geometry and its importance in describing the properties of natural shapes, focusing on examining the mathematical characteristics of certain phenomena and interpreting them based on fractal properties. It explained that fractal geometry is based on irregular shapes consisting of overlapping parts of different sizes, formed through the repetition of nonlinear equations or the application of specific mathematical rules. It also highlighted the feature of dividing the main shape into smaller parts, each being a miniature version of the whole.   The workshop also explored the applications of fractal geometry in various fields, such as digital image analysis, architectural system design, and studying natural phenomena like clouds and mountain formations.   شارك الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور أنور شناوي ذياب التدريسي في كلية الحقوق بجامعة النهرين في الملتقى البحثي لمسؤولي أجهزة الحفاظ على سلامة اللغة العربية في الوزارات والمؤسسات العراقية الذي نظمه المجمع العلمي العراقي تحت عنوان “سلامة لغة المخاطبات الرسمية - المشكلات والمعالجات”   قدم الدكتور شناوي بحثه الموسوم بـ”منهجية التصحيح اللغوي بين الصحة والفصاحة - كتب المخاطبات الرسمية أنموذجًا” حيث تناول فيه أسباب انتشار الأخطاء اللغوية بين الموظفين وأنواعها والعقبات التي يواجهها الموظف في تصحيح المخاطبات كما عرّف بكتب تصحيح المخاطبات الرسمية وناقش بعض النماذج مثل تعميم وإعمام منسوب ومنتسب تأليف لجنة وتشكيل لجنة اتخاذ اللازم أطيب التحيات الأستاذة الدكتورة   يهدف البحث إلى بيان العقبات والصعوبات التي يواجهها محرر الكتاب الرسمي وسبل تذليلها وبيان منهجية الكتب التي تصدت لتصحيح لغة الموظفين وتوصل البحث الى مجموعة من النتائج اهمها الالتزام بالمنهج اللغوي العقلاني في تصحيح كتب المخاطبات الرسمية و جعل اللغة الصحيحة الموافقة لقواعد اللغة العربية معيارًا أساسيًا لتحرير الكتب الرسمية.    قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين     A Faculty Member from the College of Law Participates in the Research Forum for Officials of Arabic Language Preservation in Official Communications   Assistant Professor Dr. Anwar Shnawi Dhiyab, a faculty member at the College of Law at Al-Nahrain University, participated in the research forum for officials responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the Arabic language in ministries and institutions in Iraq, organized by the Iraqi Scientific Academy under the title “The Integrity of Official Communication Language: Problems and Solutions.”   Dr. Dhiyab presented his research titled “Linguistic Correction Methodology: Between Accuracy and Eloquence – A Case Study of Official Communication Letters.” The study addressed the causes of the spread of linguistic errors among employees, their types, the obstacles employees face when correcting official correspondence, and provided insights into the books used for correcting official communication. The research also examined specific examples such as “T‘amim and ‘Ammam,” “Mansoub and Muntasib,” “Formation of a Committee,” and others.   The research aimed to highlight the obstacles and challenges faced by official letter editors and the ways to overcome them, as well as clarify the methodology of books that address language correction for employees.   نظم قسم علوم الحياة في كلية العلوم حلقة نقاشية بعنوان “التأثيرات السامة للخلايا وموت الخلايا المبرمج لمجمعات القصدير (IV) التي تحتوي على قاعدة شيف مشتقة من سيفالكسين على خط خلايا سرطان الثدي”، قدمتها المدرس المساعد عبير عرفان عدنان.   تضمنت الحلقة تقديم دراسة حديثة ركزت على تخليق مركبات معدنية جديدة وتقييم تأثيرها السام على خلايا سرطان الثدي البشري (MCF-7) وخلايا الجلد الطبيعية (HDFn). أظهرت النتائج قدرة مركبات القصدير العضوي المصنعة على تثبيط نمو خلايا سرطان الثدي بفعالية، حيث أظهر المشتق الديبوتيل نشاطًا مضادًا للسرطان أعلى مقارنة بالمشتقات الأخرى.   أشارت الدراسة إلى أن تقنية الفحص عالية المحتوى (HCS) كشفت عن انخفاض ملحوظ في حيوية خلايا MCF-7، مما يعكس فعالية المركبات في تحفيز موت الخلايا المبرمج.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين    The College of Science Organizes a Discussion Seminar on Toxic Effects and Programmed Cell Death   The Department of Life Sciences at the College of Science organized a discussion seminar titled “Toxic Effects of Cells and Programmed Cell Death of Tin(IV) Complexes Containing a Schiff Base Derivative from Cephalexin on Breast Cancer Cell Line,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Abeer Arfan Adnan.   The seminar presented a recent study that focused on synthesizing new metal complexes and evaluating their toxic effects on human breast cancer cells (MCF-7) and normal skin cells (HDFn). The results showed the ability of the synthesized organic tin complexes to effectively inhibit the growth of breast cancer cells, with the dibutyl derivative showing higher anticancer activity compared to other derivatives.   The study indicated that high-content screening (HCS) technology revealed a significant decrease in the viability of MCF-7 cells, reflecting the effectiveness of the complexes in inducing programmed cell death.   Department of Media and Government Communication Office of the President of Al-Nahrain University

  بحثت رسالة ماجستير في كلية الحقوق بجامعة النهرين بعنوان “إشكالية المصلحة في قضاء المحكمة الاتحادية العليا”، قدمتها الطالبة سجى معد الأوسي.   هدفت الدراسة إلى إبراز مفهوم شرط المصلحة وأوصافها في حدود الدعوى الدستورية وفق اختلاف أسلوب تحريك الدعوى، وتمييزها عن الدعوى الموضوعية ونطاق ارتباطها بها. كما تناولت حالات تخلف المصلحة في الدعوى الدستورية، والتي تؤدي إلى الحكم برد الدعوى ابتداءً أو إسقاطها لاحقًا، مع توضيح فكرة الترابط بين المصلحتين المشار إليهما، ومدى اعتبار توافر المصلحة في الدعوى الأصلية شرطًا لقبول الدعوى الدستورية.   تضمنت الدراسة تناول المصلحة في قضاء المحكمة الاتحادية العليا، باعتبارها أحد المبادئ الأساسية التي تقوم عليها الدعوى الدستورية، التي تنتمي إلى القضاء العيني الذي يدور النزاع فيه حول مشروعية القوانين أو الأنظمة في ذاتها. في هذا المجال، لا يتمتع الأفراد بحقوق شخصية بل لهم مجرد مصلحة لا ترقى إلى مرتبة الحق. وبالتالي، يكتفي القضاء الدستوري بهذه المصلحة لقبول دعوى عدم الدستورية.   توصلت الدراسة إلى وجود استقلال وخصوصية بين كلاً من شرطي الصفة والمصلحة، حيث يمكن الأخذ بالمصلحة المحتملة في بعض الحالات خلافًا للأصل العام. كما أكدت أن المصلحة تعد من الشروط الأساسية في الدعوى الدستورية، حيث تُرد الدعوى في حال تخلف هذه المصلحة.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين    A Master’s Thesis at Al-Nahrain University Examines the Issue of Interest in the Jurisprudence of the Federal Supreme Court   A Master’s thesis at the College of Law at Al-Nahrain University titled “The Issue of Interest in the Jurisprudence of the Federal Supreme Court” was presented by Student Saja Maad Al-Awsi.   The study aimed to highlight the concept of the condition of interest and its attributes within the context of constitutional lawsuits, according to the varying methods of initiating lawsuits, distinguishing it from the substantive lawsuit and its relation to it. It also addressed the cases where the interest in a constitutional lawsuit is absent, leading to the dismissal of the lawsuit initially or its subsequent rejection, clarifying the idea of the connection between the two interests and the extent to which the presence of interest in the original lawsuit is a prerequisite for the acceptance of the constitutional lawsuit.   The study examined the interest in the jurisprudence of the Federal Supreme Court, considering it one of the fundamental principles that underlie constitutional lawsuits, which belong to the objective judiciary where the dispute centers around the legitimacy of laws or regulations themselves. In this context, individuals do not possess personal rights but only have an interest that does not rise to the level of a right. Therefore, constitutional judiciary accepts this interest to admit a case of unconstitutionality.   The study concluded that there is an independence and specificity between both the conditions of standing and interest, where the potential interest may be considered in some cases, contrary to the general rule.   أقامت وحدة حقوق الإنسان في كلية التقنيات الأحيائية بجامعة النهرين ندوة علمية بعنوان “حقوق الإنسان في المواثيق الدولية”.   ألقت الندوة استاذ مساعد دكتور هديل سعد أحمد، التدريسية في كلية العلوم السياسية بجامعة النهرين، حيث تناولت عدة محاور رئيسية تتعلق بموضوع حقوق الإنسان في المواثيق الدولية.   تمت مناقشة أهمية المواثيق الدولية مثل الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان والاتفاقيات الدولية الأخرى التي تهدف إلى حماية حقوق الأفراد وتعزيز العدالة والمساواة في جميع أنحاء العالم. كما تم تسليط الضوء على دور الدول والمنظمات الدولية في تنفيذ هذه المواثيق لضمان حقوق الأفراد وحمايتها من الانتهاكات.   كما تطرقت الندوة إلى التحديات التي تواجه تنفيذ حقوق الإنسان في بعض الدول وكيفية تعزيز الوعي العام بأهمية المواثيق الدولية في حماية الحقوق الإنسانية الأساسية.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين    The College of Biotechnology at Al-Nahrain University Holds a Scientific Seminar on Human Rights in International Conventions   The Human Rights Unit at the College of Biotechnology at Al-Nahrain University held a scientific seminar titled “Human Rights in International Conventions.”   The seminar was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Hadeel Saad Ahmed, a faculty member at the College of Political Science, Al-Nahrain University, where she addressed several key topics related to human rights in international conventions.   The discussion focused on the importance of international conventions such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international agreements aimed at protecting individual rights and promoting justice and equality worldwide. The publication is intended to support healthcare professionals, including doctors and pharmacists, and promote the safe and effective use of medications, thereby contributing to the improvement of healthcare quality in Iraq.   The guide includes comprehensive information about 572 drugs, covering their scientific and trade names, dosages, therapeutic indications, drug interactions, and side effects.
